About the Authors
I am Kya Kali. I studied English in college before spending time teaching it because I have always loved a good story. Since I was young, I was drawn to high fantasy, where you could get lost in the world completely, and where magic made everyone extraordinary.
I intentionally write in the third person, which lets me guide readers through each scene from whichever perspective serves it best. I write adult fantasy romance that puts relationships at the center of everything, and I want to challenge conventions: my stories feature strong male leads who fall in love with (and are sometimes chased by) powerful dragons, monster girls, and remarkable women.
I write a range of relationship types, from deeply romantic to fiercely platonic, with most kinds of couples represented. I am most interested in what happens to the couple after they are together.

Calvin Cove is my editor and cowriter on much of this world. He hails from a diverse background of creative pursuits. Among his very greatest pleasures, though, is the desire to experience grand stories in detailed, lived-in worlds, filled with characters who hold all sorts of quirks and desires

We both believe that an excellent story should change you when you read it because of what the characters go through. Together, we tackle deeper themes using established couples. These stories are not primarily will they/won't they get together or stay together romance stories. These are stories about what happens after the couple starts trying to get "happily ever after" in a world filled with people struggling to get what they want (even at the expense of everyone else).
The world-building is nuanced and very layered, especially as you go deeper into these books!
Other people who have made this work possible!

Amius has helped me with numerous technology situations ranging from hosting this very website, setting up the shop, finding real-world tech to help me out, and even programs that help me get writing done. (One time, I smashed most of my fingers on my right hand, and he helped me find a voice-to-text program I still use!)

Pixiewings created the cover of A Bunny and His Dragon, and has contributed art throughout the project. If it has a fun, animated feel, they're probably behind it!
